Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has been invited to one of golf’s most exclusive clubs.
Manning is one of the newest members of the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, according to Josh Carpenter of Sports Business Journal.
His brother, former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, was reportedly invited to join the club in 2016.
The club reportedly only has about 300 members at any given time, and membership is by invitation only.
Invitations are usually sent out in September. CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy and Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian were also invited, per Carpenter.
A list of 118 members published by Bloomberg in 2015 named sports leaders including NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, former longtime college football coach Lou Holtz, Pro Football Hall of Famer Lynn Swann and Atlanta Braves CEO Terry McGuirk. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred is also a member.
Augusta National started admitting women in 2012. Annika Sorenstam, who won 72 titles on the LPGA Tour, was reportedly the first LGPA professional to receive an invite when she joined the club last year.
The club also has five billionaire members including Warren Buffett, who is ranked by Forbes as one of the six wealthiest people in the world, according to Bloomberg.
Augusta National opened in 1932 and has hosted the annual Masters Tournament since 1932. Scottie Scheffler won the 2024 edition of the event in April.
