Former United States president Donald Trump plans to attend the upcoming Alabama football game vs. Georgia on Sept. 28, political commentator Mark Halperin reported Monday, citing sources.
Trump, the Republican candidate for president in the November 2024 general election, previously attended the Alabama vs. LSU game in November 2019 as sitting president. Trump was shown on the Bryant-Denny Stadium video board during a commercial break and received an ovation from the crowd.
Trump’s appearance in 2019 included an increased Secret Service presence at fan entrance gates to the stadium and stricter security measures. Neither Trump’s campaign nor Alabama has announced his upcoming appearance.
Alabama and Georgia both have an open date this weekend before the Sept. 28 game. Georgia is currently ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press poll, while Alabama is No. 4.
Trump also attended the Alabama vs. Georgia national championship game in January 2018 in Atlanta.
