LAREDO, Texas— The Miami University golf team ended day one of the Border Olympics tied for fourth place with Michigan, with an overall score of 579, or 11-above par. The RedHawks are three strokes behind third-place New Mexico State. Michael Weber leads the team in 10th place with a score of 143, or one-above par. 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Weber (70-73–143) is one stroke behind eighth place, ending the two rounds with a total of five birdies. 
• Cameron Pero (73-71–144) finished the day with seven birdies for a score of two above par. He scored birdies on the 18th hole of both rounds.
• Brett Podobinski (74-73–147) shot birdies on four holes in the second round, ending the day tied for 31st. 
• Morgan Blythe (73-74–147) is also tied for 31st with four birdies. 
• Matthew Mattioli (72-82–154) finished the second round with a score of 12 above par.
