Michigan football already has two commitments in the 2026 recruiting class. Among those is 4-Star Cornerback Brody Jennings who has recently scheduled visits to SEC schools. Jennings recently told On3 that he plans to visit schools such as Miami, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and more.
Jennings said this when speaking on the Wolverines: “I love Michigan,” he said. “It’s a great spot for me. They love me too. That’s part of why I committed. I’m going to visit other schools, but I’m still 1,000% locked in with Michigan.”
We’ve heard this story a million times at this point. A recruit is locked into the Wolverines, they visit an SEC school and flip in the coming weeks. It’s almost routine at this point. Now, I don’t believe that the sky is falling down for Michigan football in this recruitment, but it is slightly worrisome.
Jennings is just one of two Michigan football commitments so far in the 2026 class. The other is wide receiver Jalen Pile, a three-star recruit according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
I wish we lived in a recruiting era of once you commit to a school you’re committed. You take your visits prior to choosing your final destination and once you’ve made up your mind you then commit. Of course, It’s Jennings career and he should have the right to make business decisions. If he finds that he likes another school more, we will wish him the best in his career. That is the Michigan way. Go Blue.
