Titletown had many memorable moments in the sports world this year.

From the much deserved Banner 18, to the Bruins’ centennial game where they beat the Montreal Canadiens on home turf, the Patriots drafting a star rookie quarterback, and familiar faces joining forces for an oh-so-Boston Super Bowl commercial, it is safe to say that the city had a pretty good run in sports this year. 

In true end-of-year fashion, we asked readers to reflect on some of their favorite moments in sports over the past year. Obviously, the Celtics bringing home the championship was a top highlight, not to mention the parade brought in an estimated one million fans to celebrate from Causeway Street to the Hynes Convention Center.

“All of Pay Day Pritchard’s 3 point shot moments in the 2024 season. Wrapping up the win for 2024 and now kicking off the 2024-2025 season he is incredible. When he goes into the game you feel that Prtiching Hour energy,” wrote Tamara W. from Cambridge

“Anytime the Boston sports teams defeat any so-called New York (when some are actually New Jersey) teams. Of course it is best when Boston teams win, but there is almost the same satisfaction when NY/NJ teams lose to anyone,” wrote Bob from Auburn, Maine. 

Like every New Year, there are goals that we aim to achieve. For sports fans, they hope our teams can continue to show the world why we are Titletown, and more specifically, redemption for the Pats.

“A REPEAT, the Bruins and Red Sox to win the championship 🏆!! And, the Patsies to improve the last 3 games!” wrote one reader about what they hope to see in Boston sports next year. 

“I hope to see the Pats improve, the Sox leadership attempt to compete, the B’s win a series or two, and the Celts repeat!” said Paul L. from Pinehurst, North Carolina. 

“All teams being contenders. We have the best home field advantage in all sports, us fans,” said Bob from Auburn.
