Wide receiver Diontae Johnson’s short, but eventful, career with the Ravens is over.

The Ravens waived Johnson on Friday, the team announced.

Baltimore acquired Johnson in a trade with the Panthers on Oct. 29, giving up a fifth-round selection and getting Johnson and a sixth-rounder. He played only 39 snaps in four games and made one catch for 6 yards.

In his final game with the team, Johnson refused to play against the Eagles on Dec. 1. The Ravens suspended him for a game for conduct detrimental to the team, and the sides mutually agreed earlier this week to excuse him from team activities.

The Ravens could have held onto Johnson to receive the compensatory pick after he signed elsewhere as a free agent in March, but they decided to move on now instead. He will remain on the waiver wire until 4 p.m. ET Monday, and if he clears, will become a free agent then.

Johnson made 30 catches for 357 yards and three touchdowns in seven games with the Panthers this season. He spent his first five seasons with Pittsburgh, where he caught 391 passes for 4,363 yards and 25 touchdowns.

The Ravens also announced the elevations of cornerback Desmond King and wide receiver Anthony Miller from the practice squad for Saturday’s game.
