Few teams nationally have landed as many portal commits as the Badgers, who still believe they can be one of the Big Ten’s best under Luke Fickell. The start to his tenure has underwhelmed, but former Maryland quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. and others hope to change that in 2025. Ex-Georgia EDGE Micheal Garner is a player to keep an eye on after he signed with the Bulldogs with high hopes but was buried by a talented depth chart in Athens. 

Talent retention was top priority for the Gamecocks this offseason after quarterback LaNorris Sellers and edge rusher Dylan Stewart opted to stay, but Shane Beamer has made sure to land a couple transfers to fill a few spots in the lineup that will be vacant due to the 2025 NFL Draft. Missouri EDGE Jaylen Brown, Florida State linebacker Shawn Murphy and Utah State running back Rahsul Faison could assume starring roles in 2025. South Carolina also landed former Ohio State quarterback Air Noland to serve as Sellers’ QB2. Noland was a freshman this season for the Buckeyes, playing behind Will Howard and Julian Sayin.

Jeff Lebby’s first season in Starkville did not go well as the SEC’s leader in losses, so the Bulldogs have made the investment to overhaul their roster ahead of 2025 through the portal and high school recruiting. Former Florida State quarterback Luke Kromenhoek looks to be the guy following Van Buren’s transfer and he’ll have a playmaker beside him in former South Alabama ballcarrier Fluff Bothwell. Mississippi State’s biggest improvements are on the other side of the football where the priority was up front and on the back end.

Miami’s big pickup is former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, who is reportedly set to make more than $5 million next season in total NIL contracts.
