RUSHVILLE, Ill. — The Quincy Notre Dame boys golf team is primed to start its state championship pursuit.
The Raiders have two regular-season tournaments remaining — Friday at the Normal U-High Invitational and Saturday at the Galesburg Invitational — but Wednesday’s performance at the West Central Conference championships at Scripps Park Golf Course was indicative of a team on a mission.
QND posted a 293 total to win the team title with five individuals finishing in the top six on the leaderboard.
Rushville-Industry was second at 308, followed by West Hancock.
Individually, the Rockets’ Reed Freteug took medalist honors with a 69. QND’s Beau Eftink was second with a 70, while the Raiders’ Harper Hough and Aiden Tangy tied for third at 73. QND’s Olliver Hendrian and Grant Lepper tied for fifth with 75s.
