The initiative, which is part of Qatar Charity’s social responsibility, aims to offer moral and educational support that children need during their hospital stays, as well as to promote solidarity values within the community.
This includes providing patients with various types of tools used by specialists to train children in cognitive and motor skills, tailored to each child’s health condition. It contributes to supporting the institution’s efforts in providing healthcare services to members of society.
Faisal Rashid al-Fehaida, assistant CEO for Programmes and Community Development at Qatar Charity, expressed gratitude to Hamad Medical Corporation and its staff for their continuous collaboration with Qatar Charity in serving the community.
He emphasised that providing these educational tools is an extension of Qatar Charity’s commitment to assisting patients and supporting activities for them through collaboration and partnership with service institutions in the country, contributing to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.
He stated, “Through this project, we aim to create a fun and educational environment for sick children, enhancing their skills and capabilities through these educational means and contributing to strengthening the healthcare service provided to them.”
Dr Mohamed al-Ameri, head of Pediatrics at the Medical Care and Research Centre and director of Paediatric Emergency at Hamad Medical Corporation, thanked Qatar Charity for donating educational tools and toys to the paediatric department at the Medical Care Centre. He noted that this space is carefully designed and equipped with specialised toys, making it a valuable contribution that meets the diverse needs and interests of children.
He said, “The activities room aims to create an environment that promotes joy, creativity, and learning, expected to help alleviate the stress and anxiety often experienced by children during their hospital stays by introducing elements of play and fun. This room is not just for entertainment but also a space encouraging social interaction and emotional support among children.”
Huda al-Maadadi, assistant executive director of Nursing and Operational Operations at the Medical Care and Research Centre at Hamad Medical Corporation, emphasised that this donation underscores the importance of comprehensive care, where emotional and psychological wellbeing is given as much attention as physical health.
In collaboration with Qatar Charity, their humanitarian partner, the Paediatric Department at the Medical Care and Research Centre takes a significant step towards creating a child-friendly environment.
This humanitarian initiative reflects both institutions’ commitment to enhancing cooperation efforts, social responsibility, and partnership to bring joy and happiness to sick children, thereby improving the quality of their hospital stays.
