Qatar Airways has launched flights between Doha and Hamburg, which becomes the carrier’s fifth destination in Germany.
The airline is now offering daily flights on the new Hamburg route, alongside its existing routes from Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich to Doha. The addition also means that Qatar Airways is now flying to 49 destinations in Europe.
Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways, said that Germany was a “key market” for the airline, which recorded a 62 per cent rise in outbound passengers from Germany in 2023 compared with the previous year.
“As Qatar and Germany’s bilateral relations continue to strengthen, we are pleased to begin this route which will further reinforce important economic and trade ties between the two countries,” added Al-Meer.
Qatar Airways has also restarted other European routes this summer including Venice and Lisbon for the first time in four years after they were shelved during the Covid-19 pandemic.
