NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Dairy Farmers of America has confirmed to WSMV4 that Purity Dairy will discontinue its ice cream production.
DFA reports that no jobs will be impacted by this move. Purity Dairy’s ice cream products were manufactured at the Athens, Tenn. facility.
That facility will now expand the production of Mayfield Dairy ice cream products.
“This discontinuation of ice cream also does not impact the Purity Dairy brand overall or its manufacturing facility in Nashville, Tenn., which produces fluid milk products,” DFA said.
The discontinued ice cream products will be off retail store shelves throughout the first quarter of 2025 and be replaced with Mayfield Dairy ice cream products.
Purity Dairy has been in operation since 1925 when it began as a small family farm.
