Princess Anne has impressed royal fans after they noticed a key detail about her outfit on Tuesday’s state banquet.
The Princess Royal, 74, attended the three-course meal at Buckingham Palace last night hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla for the Amir of Qatar’s state visit.
At the dinner, Anne was seen smiling and laughing in a beautiful cream dress, which royal fans were quick to remember she had previously worn at a banquet in 1987.
At the time, Princess Anne was attending The King Fahd Banquet at Claridges Hotel in London during a state visit from King Fahd of Saudi Arabia.
King Fahd was the host of the event, which saw senior members of the Royal Family attend including the late Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip and the late Princess Diana.
As well as the dress, the Princess Royal also wore The Royal Family Order Of Queen Elizabeth II, which was pinned on a yellow ribbon.
Pictures of the princess in the dress 37 years ago and last night were shared on X, with fans quick to praise the princess, who some dubbed “the queen of rewearing.”
One person wrote: “Wow, what a women.”
A second said: “She is the queen of recycling/rewearing!”
Another commented: “Still looks good.”
A fourth said: “Very thrifty is our lovely Princess Anne.”
Princess Anne also caught the attention of royal fans at the state visit last night as she was wearing her new Royal Family Order of King Charles III at the banquet.
The state visit, which began officially on Tuesday morning and will end tonight, is the last to be hosted at Buckingham Palace for some time, with the next one not expected to take place until 2027 as a result of renovation work.
The banquet was hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla, who had to drop out of some previous engagements on the same day as a result of lingering symptoms of a chest infection.
