Jericho, NY – Jacob Vazquez led the Pride to a first place team finish with a score of 305 (+17), while taking first individually at the Panther Invitational from Meadow Brook Club on Thursday. Hofstra has now earned back-to-back team titles after winning the SHU Fall Classic on October 1.
Vazquez shot a first round 75 (+3) and second round 73 (+1) for a two-round score of 148 (+4). Eugene Kang came in second place out of the 36-player field at 149 (+5). Charlie Ferrise and Gavin Clarke both tied for 9th place at 155 (+11) following rounds of 77-79 and 78-77, respectively. Joseph Giamanco tied for 21st place at 165 (+21), while Vincent Apostolico tied for 24th place, and Taishi Shigaki finished tied for 28th. Apostolico and Shigaki played as individuals.
Hofstra led the six teams at the Panther Invitational after a first round 305 (+17) and second round 302 (+14) to take first. Behind the Pride was St. Thomas Aquinas, Adelphi, Farmingdale State, Dominican, and Post.
Hofstra is back in action on Sunday, October 13 for the 29th Annual Bucknell Fall Invitational.
