>> IUP solidified their spot at four in the PSAC West after a close loss against Cal U on Wednesday, 69-62.
>> Nyshae’ Weaver led the charge for IUP, scoring 16 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Shamia Strayhorn also posted 16 points and five rebounds, and Ellie Wilkerson trailed with 13 points.
>> Weaver was named PSAC West Co-Athlete of the Week on February 24th for the third time this season and received PSAC honors for the fifth overall time this season.
>> Weaver ranks 17th nationally with 13 double-doubles this season. Weaver is also ranked second in Division II with her field goal percentage and eighth in rebounds per game

>> The Hawks rank fifth in the PSAC for scoring offense, averaging 70.2 PPG, and are second in the conference in field goal percentage (.447).
>> Scott has been posting some large numbers recently, increasing her PPG to 6.8, and her APG to 2.6. This season, Scott is averaging 26.7 MPG, 6.8 PPG, 2.6 APG, and she is shooting .345 from the field and .741 from the line.
>> Clarion’s most recent matchup resulted in a win for the Golden Eagles, 76-58.
>> Autumn Taylor led Clarion in scoring with 23 points, followed by Zoe Guice with 10, and Malayziah Etheredge with nine.

Clarion has an overall record of 14-13 and a conference record of 8-11. The Golden Eagles are locked in at 6th place for PSAC West playoffs. Clarion is averaging 72.4 PPG, 40.7 RPG, 10.2 APG, 19.9 TOG, 12.0 SPG, and 3.9 BPG. The Golden Eagles are shooting .393 from the field, .270 from the arc, and .671 from the line.
Clarion’s top point scorer is sophomore guard, Autumn Taylor. This season alone, Taylor has scored 426 points, averaging 15.8 PPG. Taylor is also averaging 1.7 APG, 2.3 RPG, and 3.0 TO/G. Taylor is shooting .381 from the field, .311 from the arc, and .741 from the line.
Clarion’s top rebounder is freshman forward, Madison Palek. Palek is posting 5.8 RPG, 4.9 PPG, 1.3 BPG, and 1.8 TO/G. Palek is shooting .393 from the field, .167 from the arc, and .457 from the line.
LAST MATCHUP
In their most recent contest on January 25th, IUP dominated the charts, shutting out Clarion, 68-39. Strayhorn led the charge for the Crimson Hawks with 17 points, followed by Weaver with 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Grace Centrulla and Lily Jordan with 11 points. IUP also posted seven blocks, nine steals, and 19 points off of turnovers. Taylor led the Golden Eagles with seven points, and three other players followed with six points. Clarion grabbed 37 rebounds, racked up 15 turnovers, and only shot .288 from the field.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
Since the opening of the KCAC in the 2011-12 season, IUP has had an outstanding home court advantage to go along with a nationally prominent basketball program.
IUP boasts a 166-31 (.846) record in home games since the venue opened, not losing more than four home games in a single season during that span. At the KCAC, the IUP women have won:

PSAC PLAYOFFS
As of their game against Cal U on Wednesday, IUP is placed at fourth in the PSAC, guaranteeing their participation in the playoffs. IUP is sitting behind conference leader, Seton Hill (16-3, 22-4), Edinboro (16-3, 21-5), and Gannon (15-4, 23-5). Since 1984, IUP has appeared in the PSAC tournament 26 times, has appeared in the PSAC West Championship eight times, and has made it to the PSAC Championship six times.
WILKERSON MAKING HER WAY
Ellie Wilkerson has started 21 of the games she has appeared in. She earned PSAC West Athlete of the Week on January 7 after her impressive performances at Daemen and Edinboro. Wilkerson posted her best performance of the season against Daemen, scoring 20 points on .643 shooting from the field with nine made field goals. For the week, she averaged 17.5 points per game, 33 minutes, and shot better than .500 from the field.
Overall, she is averaging 28.4 MPG, 10.9 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and is shooting .453 from the field. She has totaled 30 steals so far this season and has recorded at least one steal in every game leading up to Gannon. She has recorded at least two steals in nine games this season, most recently snagging four against Seton Hill. She has scored 15+ points five times this season.
A LOOK INTO STRAYHORN
Senior guard Shamia Strayhorn leads the team in MPG, averaging 34.0 minutes, placing her at 6th in the PSAC. Strayhorn is shooting .418 from the field and has contributed 99 rebounds, 53 assists, 48 steals, and five blocks to the team. Strayhorn has led the team in assists six times this season, followed by steals eight times. Her free throw percentage ranks 19th in the PSAC (.724) from 127 attempts.
WONDERFUL WEAVER
Junior forward Nyshae’ Weaver has been making a name for herself this season. Weaver was named PSAC West Co-Athlete of the Week on January 4th for the third time this season and received PSAC honors for the fifth overall time this season. Weaver is leading the team with 11.5 RPG, placing her at second in the conference. On top of her rebounding, Weaver is averaging 15.2 PPG, which is the second highest on the team, and 8th in the conference. Weaver is also shooting .656 from the field, which is first in the PSAC and second in the NCAA DII. On top of her impressive PPG and RPG numbers, Weaver has tallied 13 double-doubles this season alone.
FRESH OFF THE BENCH
IUP has utilized players off the bench, including Lily Jordan and Macie Jarrett. Freshman Jordan is leading the bench in points, shooting .470 from the field and averaging 7.0 PPG. Averaging 24.3 MPG, Jordan has notched 111 rebounds, 40 assists, 19 steals, and 11 blocks. Macie Jarrett has witnessed more minutes this new year, averaging 7.8 MPG, all while averaging .340 from the field and .667 from the arc, Jarrett has posted 18 rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
