This is something I have been celebrating and haven’t stopped since I heard the news.

Some of you may also know about the newest, most amazingly, incredibly addition coming to Lewiston, Maine. And as Lizzo says, it’s about ehem time.

Our fitness game is about to level up in the most massive way because after years of us Central Maine gym rats trekking to Augusta or Auburn for our workouts, we can finally say good bye to those road trips.

Planet Fitness, aka P Fitty, as I like to call it, is finally coming to town.

For me, I travel from Lewiston to Auburn to Planet Fitness around rush hour and even though it’s only a few miles it takes forever to get across the memorial bridge.

That by the time I get there, I’m tired. Planet Fitness is making a huge return to Lewiston and they are setting up shop right next to Shaw’s Supermarket at 25 East Avenue.

How do I know about this?

I got a flyer in the mail! And as we all know, once something is on a flyer, it’s basically written in stone. Might as well be the law.

For those of us who remember, it’s been a decade since Planet Fitness had a spot in Lewiston. But they are back and apparently are going to be bigger then ever!

According to the Sun Journal, they are betting big with just under a million-dollar investment to create a stunning facility for all of us.

When are they opening?

While the exact opening date is still under wraps, the buzz is real, and the excitement is in the air.

So, here’s to no more battling rush hour traffic just to get our sweat on.

Soon, we will all have a state of the art gym right in our backyard.

Dust off those sneakers, Lewiston and get ready to embrace the epic Judgment Free Zone, once again. Let’s make this the fittest year yet!
