DULUTH — One of the longer local golf seasons in recent memory has come to a close, unless Mother Nature gives us a mulligan with another mild winter.
With temperatures near 50 degrees, more than two dozen golfers teed off during the second weekend in November, likely for the last time for the 2024 season in the Twin Ports area.
was the last remaining local course open for play, with Saturday serving as their fall finale. An employee with the course said around 3 p.m., about 25 golfers had already stopped by for a round at the nine-hole course. Among those were Eric O’Hara of Duluth.
“100 percent, we had a good last day, so gotta do it,” O’Hara said while putting on the practice green.
On March 1, Big Lake Golf Resort in Cloquet was the first local course to open.
