PCB Chamber eyeing new jobs, opportunities with incoming attractions

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Two popular attractions are coming to Panama City Beach, bringing in money and jobs.

Topgolf broke ground on a Panama City Beach facility this September, its 10th location in Florida.

But it is their first venue in the Panhandle. It is located on Powell Adams Road, just south of Panama City Beach Parkway. The Topgolf website says the facility’s opening is planned for Summer 2025.

Dolly Parton’s Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show is currently being built in Pier Park. The company confirmed to NewsChannel 7 on Thursday that the plan is for the 60,000-square-foot facility to open this coming Spring. A more focused timeline should be coming shortly.

“There’s just a lot of growth. Very exciting and good additions to make our destination attractive. These attractions that are coming are gonna have a lot of jobs that need to be filled. New roles, new management positions, more staffing. So, when you have more opportunity in the area, that’s gonna attract more people to the area,” said Kristopher McLane, President/CEO of the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce.

The new attractions are expected to bring many new employment opportunities to the area. Topgolf’s website says they will employ 275-300 people at their new location.

“You want good jobs right here in Bay County, right here in Panama City Beach, that people can find and stay here,” McLane said. “Anytime you offer something different, you separate yourselves from neighboring destinations and can say ‘Hey, we’re not just the beach.’”
