The 2024 NFL trade deadline is approaching fast, and the New England Patriots are one of the teams to keep a close eye on.
Despite their 2-7 record, they could be both buyers and sellers before the trading window closes no Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. ET. After all, they are in the early stages of an all-encompassing rebuild: finding out which assets to keep while simultaneously strengthening the position for the future is key.
In years past, the Patriots have never shied away from making deadline moves. Even though New England has not been active in three straight years now, the team under previous head coach/general manager Bill Belichick has swung at least one deadline trade in five of the last 11 years.
Will Belichick’s predecessor take a similar approach? Or will the team stay put? Time will tell, but we will be on it nonetheless. Welcome to this year’s version of the Pats Pulpit Patriots Trade Deadline Tracker.
ED Joshua Uche: Traded to Kansas City Chiefs. The writing was on the wall as soon as the Patriots made Uche a healthy scratch for their Week 8 game against New York. Just 24 hours later, he was shipped to Kansas City in return for a sixth-round selection in the 2026 draft — putting an end to a once-promising but always-inconsistent tenure for the former second-round draft choice.
