The Texas Tech basketball team’s rematch with Houston inside United Supermarkets Arena brought a certain famous alum back to Lubbock for the occasion.
Former Red Raider and current Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was greeted with thunderous cheers as he was shown on the video board in his seat next to the Texas Tech bench along with his wife, Brittany.
Big 12 commission Brett Yormark was also in attendance for the game, seated across the court from Mahomes next to the television broadcast table.
Mahomes’ attendance at Texas Tech basketball games is usually announced ahead of time but this one came as a surprise to the crowd just before tip.
