With snow in the forecast, Parx canceled its Monday racing card.
The Philadelphia-area track said in an X post that racing was scheduled to resume Tuesday with an early post time of 11:35 a.m. EST.
The National Weather Service predicted a high of 31 degrees and one to three inches of snow Monday, with a 100% chance of precipitation. Tuesday’s forecast called for a sunny day with a high of about 31 degrees. The rest of the week is expected to be clear as well.
Parx canceled its Jan. 1 card because of wintry conditions and it was set to have an early post time on Monday.
Other cancellations are possible as a significant storm over the Ohio valley will move eastward off the mid-Atlantic coast by Monday evening, according to the NWS. The storm was expected to produce moderate to heavy
snow from parts of the Ohio Valley through to the Mid-Atlantic.
