We should have a very fun mixed doubles match for the Bronze Medal at the Paris Olympics. One of these pairs leaves Paris with a medal, the other with nothing. Who do you think will win? We share our thoughts on the match. Predicting this match are Jordan Reynolds, Shane Black, and Andreas Pelekis.
Jordan:
The Dutch pair slightly underperformed in the semifinal and will be kicking themselves for not reaching the final. By contrast, the Canadians were simply outclassed by the excellent pair of Katerina Siniakova and Tomas Machac. At their best, Koolhof and Schuurs are the better pair. I expect them to not let another chance slip and win to claim a bronze medal each.
Prediction: Schuurs and Koolhof in 2
Shane:
Auger-Aliassime turns into one of the best players in the world when he wears the Canadian red. Dabrowski is a great doubles player in her own right. The only thing I worry about is fatigue for Auger-Aliassime, as he plays his singles match earlier in the day. However, the Canadians have been impressive and should medal here.
Prediction: Auger-Aliassime and Dabrowski in 3

Andreas:
Dabrowski and Auger-Aliassime have played clutch tennis in many of their matches but couldn’t keep up with Siniakova and Machac’s doubles skills. It should be another tough test for the pair against Schuurs and Koolhof, who are doubles specialists and have played together on multiple occasions. The Dutch pair notably made the 2021 French Open semifinals in mixed doubles, while Koolhof won the 2022 French Open in mixed doubles, albeit with a different player. Auger-Aliassime will have to serve big, play aggressively and let Dabrowski’s doubles experience shine in the big moments. Ultimately, I think the Dutch pair just have the advantage in this Bronze Medal match.
Prediction: Schuurs and Koolhof in 3
