NEW DELHI: Syed Sameer Ahmed, a senior bureaucrat, is the new Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Ahmed previously held the position of deputy commissioner in Lahore.
The PCB’s board of governors approved Ahmed’s appointment on Saturday.
He replaces Salman Naseer, who will now serve as Chief Executive of the Pakistan Super League.
Mohsin Naqvi, PCB Chairman, is expected to appoint more officials from his previous team.
Naqvi previously served as the caretaker chief minister of Punjab province.
The International Cricket Department is also slated for restructuring, with a new head expected to be announced next week.
