The Green Bay Packers and the NFL are teaming up with Schreiber Foods and GENYOUth to host the first “Taste of the Draft” the night before Green Bay hosts the 2025 NFL Draft. The event was announced last week by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at a press conference featuring Packers CEO and President Mark Murphy.

Hosted by world-famous chef Andrew Zimmern, the fundraising event will turn the Schreiber Foods Green Bay headquarters into a supper club stretching five stories. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to try food from popular supper clubs across Wisconsin while mingling with some of their favorite Packers players and other NFL legends. The event promises “unexpected moments of excitement and delight”.

Goodell said the league is hoping the event will become a staple at future drafts and will be a great way for “Green Bay to make a huge mark on the NFL”.

Mark Murphy echoed his sentiments by expressing his excitement for the NFL world to enjoy a bit of Wisconsin’s culture. “From the relish trays to after-dinner ice cream drinks and old fashioneds and everything in between,” he said. He also called on supper clubs across the state to reach out to Jennifer Lauerman on the event’s web page if they’d like to be part of the event.

Mark Murphy did not immediately respond to my (not real) request for comment on whether the infamous and controversial cannibal sandwich* is a featured menu item for the gala or not, but I will be sure to update the second I hear.

The event will be a fundraiser for GENYOUth and will provide healthy school meals to students across the state. It will take place on April 23, 2025 from 4-7pm and is a 21+ event and tickets can be purchased in groups of 10 for the very low price of $800 per ticket (that’s a floor of $8,000 for all you math people out there). Something I can totally afford**.

However, if you can’t afford a ticket and still want the Wisconsin supper club experience, here’s a website with a list of them sorted by location. We can’t guarantee you’ll run into your favorite Packer at the Friday fish fry, but who knows!
