The NFL’s full Top 100 Players list has dropped, as voted on by these players’ peers in the league. Two Green Bay Packers made the cut, edge rusher Rashan Gary and quarterback Jordan Love, while others — like cornerback Jaire Alexander — were snubbed.
Here’s what NFL.com writer Coral Smith had to say about Gary ranking 50th:
Playing on the fifth year of his rookie contract and making his return from an ACL injury that cut short what looked to be a breakout 2022, Gary had something to prove in 2023. Highlighted by his first three-sack performance in Week 3, Gary showed enough by the end of October for the Packers to reward him with a four-year, $96 million extension. Gary finished the season as the team leader in sacks (nine) and QB hits (22).
Overall, Gary was ranked the eighth- or ninth-best edge defender in the league, depending on what you view the Dallas Cowboys’ Micah Parsons as. Below are the pass-rushers who came in above the $96 million man:
NFL writer Bobby Kownack had this to say about Love’s inclusion on the list:
It wasn’t pretty immediately, but the end result of Love’s first season as a starter suggests Green Bay has miraculously hit on a third straight franchise quarterback. From Week 11 through the Divisional Round, Love threw for 2,616 yards, 23 touchdowns and three interceptions, rallying the Packers to a postseason berth and delivering a shocking demolition of the Cowboys on Super Wild Card Weekend during that span.
If you’d like to watch the full Love segment, which includes Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Harrison Phillips praising the Utah State product on his growth throughout his first season as a starter, you can find it linked below.
Love came in as the seventh-ranked quarterback in the league. These were the names ahead of him:
That seems more of an accurate ranking for the quarterbacks than EA Sports dropped earlier today when they released their full launch ratings for the upcoming Madden 25 game. For whatever reason, EA Sports believes that Love is just an 81 overall quarterback, good for 15th in the league. So while the league’s players believe that Love is a top-35 player in the sport right now, you’ll find Love nudged between Jared Goff and Baker Mayfield in this year’s video game.
