WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – More than 40 Wausau-area employers were asking do you have the right stuff on Thursday afternoon on Wausau’s 400 block.
The first-ever ‘New Jobs on the Block’ job fair allowed job seekers an opportunity to network with potential employers in a unique, outdoor setting.
It also allowed businesses an opportunity to get their name out there.
“Largely, what we wanted to do today was build awareness of businesses,” Lukas Lindner from the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce said. “There are businesses here today who are not hiring, but they’re just out here to spread their name so that when the opportunity comes and they are hiring, people that are here as job seekers know the name. It’s a unique perspective to that of a pure job fair.
Lindner added that they hope to continue the job fair for years to come.
