Dutch qualifier Suzan Lamens reached the final of the Osaka Open by defeating Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the No 7 seed, 6-2, 6-4 at the Utsubo Tennis Center on Sunday night.
Lamens, ranked No 125, will face Australian qualifier Kimberly Birrell next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Dutchwoman won against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the No 6 seed (6-1, 6-2), Italian Lucia Bronzetti (6-3, 6-4) and Romanian qualifier Ana Bogdan (4-6, 6-3, 6-3).
Parry, ranked No 52, beat Russian Erika Andreeva (4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-1), Belgian Greet Minnen (6-4, 6-2) and Dane Clara Tauson (6-3, 1-6, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Osaka tournament.
