LOS ANGELES — Noah Whittington is undecided about what he’ll do next season, but he has different circumstances to consider.
Oregon’s No. 2 running back recently became a father and said that will impact whether he remains in the 2025 NFL draft or opts out to return for his sixth season in college.
“I feel like it impacts it a lot because obviously I have more than just myself to think about,” Whittington said.
Whittington has 537 rushing yards with five touchdowns, 106 receiving yards and two scores and is averaging 29 yards on eight kickoff returns this season. He was coming off a significant knee injury suffered against Colorado last season.
“I feel I haven’t had a year where I completely got beat up,” Whittington said. “Unfortunately I got hurt last year, but I still feel good.”
Both Whittington and Jordan James, who is draft eligible, have said they’re undecided about next season. Should they both return, UO would have seven projected scholarship running backs in 2025, though that could drop to five if they both depart for the NFL.
