Depending on the price of the item, the price of the shipping label to return the item back to wherever warehouse it was initially sent from, in some cases it is cheaper for companies like Amazon to issue a full refund of the item and leave you with the item instead of having to print out the return label and send it back.

Depending on the circumstance, you may end up having a slightly used item that can be donated or gifted, while also receiving a good condition item and all of your money back.
