Welcome to the weekend of golf at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

And if Friday’s second round at Le Golf National showed anything, Saturday’s third round will surely consist of drastic leaderboard changes on top of what has already been two excellent days of golf at the Paris Games as some of the world’s best golfers are competing against each other.

Entering Saturday’s contest, there is a three-way tie for the leading chair in the clubhouse as Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama, United States’ Xander Schauffele and Great Britain’s Tommy Fleetwood are all tied at 11-under par. Fleetwood picked up a considerable amount of ground in the leaderboard on Friday, as he used six birdies and an eagle to move up 11 spots in the standings.

Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy remain in contention of a medal as well, as Scheffler is tied for 10th at 6-under par and McIlroy is tied for 13th at 5-under par, but if the World Nos. 1 and 3 golfers want to win a medal come Sunday, both will need a big round on Saturday with low numbers.

Who is competing for Team USA at the Paris Olympics in golf?

Team USA’s roster at the 2024 Paris Olympics includes Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark. Schauffele is the defending gold medal champion from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Is there a cut line in Olympic golf?

No. Unlike the PGA Tour, there is no cut line in Olympic golf. This means that all 60 players advanced into the weekend after the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday.
