OXFORD — The 2025 Ole Miss football running back room has taken a blow.
Junior college transfer running back Trey Hall, who joined Ole Miss in January as part of the Rebels’ strong incoming class, has suffered an Achilles injury. He will miss spring practice and possibly the 2025 season, per Ole Miss Spirit and other reports.
Hall rushed for 1,098 yards and 13 touchdowns on 149 carries in 2024 for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound junior. His speed is a weapon when he is healthy.
Running back is a bit of a question mark this fall. Ole Miss graduated top 2024 running backs Henry Parrish (678 rushing yards) and Ulysses Bentley IV (419 rushing yards).
Losing quarterback Jaxson Dart to the NFL also could put an increased emphasis on the running back position. Dart had 495 rushing yards in 2024, second-most on the team.
Senior Logan Diggs and incoming freshman Shekai Mills-Knight are two players who could emerge from the backfield.
