OXFORD − Ole Miss basketball will give fans a preview of things to come before the season begins.
No. 25 Ole Miss plays No. 24 Illinois in a charity exhibition Sunday (11 a.m., SEC Network).
Chris Beard is beginning his second season as coach of the Rebels.
The Rebels remain rolling at the eight-minute timeout. It’s been a team effort to put Ole Miss up by 22. Malik Dia leads Ole Miss with 12 points but four other Rebels have made at least two baskets.
Matthew Murrell was fouled on a 3-point shot and connected on all three free throws. It opens up Ole Miss’ largest lead.
The Rebels are off to a great start. Ole Miss made its first three 3-pointers and threw down two early alley-oops to build an early lead. Malik Dia is up to a game-high eight points.
