ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio women’s golf team added two during the early signing period head coach Kelly Ovington announced Wednesday (Nov. 13). Kathryn Husted and Paige Treherne will join the Bobcats next season in Athens.
Katie Husted
Husted comes to Ohio from Upper Arlington High School in Columbus, Ohio, where she set two school records. She was the captain of her team for two seasons and has had success at the junior level. Husted is currently in first place in the 2024-25 Golf Week Junior Scoreboard standings.
She is the daughter of Jon and Tina Husted. She has one brother, Alex, who played football at Dayton, and one sister, Kylie. Her mother ran track at Ohio from 1991-92. Her father also played football at Dayton, and her uncles Tom Zwayer and Mark Zwayer played football and threw discus at Miami of Ohio, respectively. Her cousin, Cathy Myers, played Tennis at Miami as well. Outside of golf, Husted enjoys art, design and singing She plans to study interior architecture with hopes of working in that field or professional golf in the future.
Paige Treherne
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Treherne is a four-year letter winner at Lakota West High School. She is a four-time First-Team All-GMC nominee and helped Lakota West to the Division I OHSAA District Tournament multiple times. She holds the 9-hole record, 36-hole record and single-season scoring average record at Lakota West. Treherne also won the 2021 OHSSA Division I Softball Championship
When she’s not on the course, Treherne can be found volunteering with the National Honors Society, participating on the Student Athlete Advisory Board, boating and traveling. She is the daughter of Katie and Brett Treherne. Brett played baseball at Ohio from 1996-97 and Katie played basketball at Cincinnati and Ohio Dominican. She plans to study psychology.
