Ohio State has women’s basketball has reached the 20-win mark in just 21 games.
The Buckeyes earned their 20th win of the season on Sunday as they defeated Washington, 66-56, in a home game at the Schottenstein Center.
Cotie McMahon scored 19 points to lead the Buckeyes to victory while Jaloni Cambridge added 13 and Chance Gray scored 11.

Ohio State fell into an early hole as Washington scored the game’s first seven points and pulled out to a 9-2 lead. The Huskies maintained the lead for the entire first quarter, finishing the initial period with a 15-14 advantage.
The Buckeyes started the second quarter on a 6-4 run to take their first lead of the game just one minute and 17 seconds into the second period. After allowing Washington to briefly retake the lead with a 5-0 run, Ohio State went on a 12-0 run to pull ahead by 10 points, ultimately finishing the first half with a 36-26 edge.
Washington never allowed Ohio State to pull away. After the Buckeyes built a game-high lead of 12 late in the third quarter, Washington went on a 10-0 run between the end of the third period and the start of the fourth quarter to make it a two-point game. The Buckeyes went on a 6-0 run from there, however, and held a multi-score lead the rest of the way to defeat their unranked opponent.
The Buckeyes are now 9-1 in Big Ten play. They clinched a berth in the Big Ten Tournament with Sunday’s win.
Ohio State’s 20-1 start is its best record through 21 games since the 2011-12 season, when the Buckeyes also started the season 20-1. Ohio State also went 20-1 to start the 2006-07 and 2009-10 seasons.
The eighth-ranked Buckeyes will now face their two toughest tests of the regular season in back-to-back games as they head to Los Angeles to face the top two teams in the Big Ten, No. 1 UCLA and No. 4 USC. Ohio State plays UCLA at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on Peacock and USC at 9 p.m. Saturday on FOX.
