Ohio State football sells out ticket allotment for Rose Bowl rematch with Oregon
LOS ANGELES — Ohio State sold out its allotment of tickets for the Rose Bowl, a school spokesman said Monday.
The Buckeyes received 12,500 tickets for the New Year’s Day bowl game, which is hosting a quarterfinal in the College Football Playoff. The allotment includes the Ohio State marching band.
It’s a smaller allotment than the Buckeyes were given three years ago when they met Utah in the “Granddaddy of Them All,” though that game was not a part of the playoff.
The Buckeyes sold approximately 13,000 of its allotted 20,000 tickets for the Rose Bowl that capped their 2021 season. They rallied for a 48-45 win over the Utes as quarterback C.J. Stroud threw for a school-record 573 yards and six touchdowns.
Kickoff between the Buckeyes and unbeaten Oregon, the top seed in the 12-team playoff, is 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
