COLUMBUS, Ohio — As expected, Ohio State football will have defensive tackle Tyleik Williams available for Saturday’s game against Purdue.
Coach Ryan Day said earlier this week he anticipated Williams playing against the Boilermakers. Williams’ status was confirmed by his absence from OSU’s injury report.
Tight end Will Kacmarek and left tackle Zen Michalski are the notable players listed as out for the Buckeyes.
Kacmarek is working his way back from an injury suffered at Oregon on Oct. 12. Day was asked about Kacmarek’s status on Wednesday.
“He’s doing great,” Day said. “He’s healing quickly.”
Michalski is out for the second straight week after suffering an injury during an Oct. 26 win vs. Nebraska.
Against the Huskers, Michalski made his first career start. He stepped in for Josh Simmons — Ohio State’s original left tackle who suffered a season-ending injury at Oregon.
The Buckeyes shuffled their line after Michalski, the second-string left tackle, went down. During last week’s win at Penn State, Donovan Jackson moved to left tackle while Carson Hinzman stepped in at left guard.
Senior tight end Jace Middleton and sophomore cornerback Calvin Simpson-Hunt are also out for the Buckeyes.
