BEDFORD, Ohio (WKRC) – Police located an eight-year-old girl in Target who had taken a car and drove on busy roads to the store.
Bedford Police received a call for the missing child on Sunday morning, according to Fox 8. As officers began their investigation, they received a call “concerning a small child driving east on Rockside Road.”
Officers would locate the car in Target’s parking lot. According to Fox 8, they then found the child in the store shopping.
The exact route the child took was not clear but the store was more than 10 miles away from where the child went missing, it would have been about a 20 to 25-minute drive.
The child told police that she had “struck a mailbox” during her drive, according to Fox 8. Police called the girl’s relatives to get her and the vehicle at the store.
Police told Fox 8 that the girl was too young to be charged criminally and that they were grateful no one was injured.
