However, the match was not without its challenges. A major disruption occurred when one of the floodlight towers at the venue failed, leading to a lengthy delay of over 30 minutes.
The unexpected power failure caused inconvenience for both players and spectators, prompting an official response.
Following the disruption, the Odisha government’s Director of Sports, Siddhartha Das, sent a show-cause notice to the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA).

The notice demanded a detailed explanation for the floodlight failure, identification of those responsible, and measures taken to prevent future occurrences.
The notice was addressed to OCA Secretary Sanjay Behera and CEO Subrata Behera. The latter, a former cricketer with experience in first-class and List-A matches, will be involved in responding to the inquiry.
With increasing scrutiny on match-day arrangements, the OCA is now under pressure to ensure that such technical failures do not impact future international fixtures at the venue.
