OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) – Ocean Springs announced changes to the city’s water and sewage rates and its golf cart ordinance at Tuesday’s council meeting.
The minimum monthly charge for residential water will now be $13.72 per month for usage up to 3,000 gallons.
For commercial rates, the minimum is $28.46 per month. Residents outside city limits will be charged one and a half times the rate for residential and commercial.
Ocean Springs also revised its golf cart ordinance.
Any person driving a golf cart or low-speed vehicle on public roads must have a valid driver’s license or temporary driver’s permit in their possession as well as proof of financial responsibility.
In order for someone to drive a golf cart or low-speed vehicle on public streets, the cart must have headlights, taillights, front and rear turn signals, a rearview mirror, a windshield, a horn, and brake lights.
