Oaklawn added Thursday, Jan. 30, to its calendar to help make up for days missed because of recent winter weather.

The Hot Springs, Ark., track said in a news release the move was made in consultation with the Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association. Oaklawn will continue to work with the HBPA to consider adding other days during the meet, which ends May 3.

Oaklawn canceled racing last Friday, Saturday and Sunday because of freezing temperatures and severe weather. Racing resumes this week, Thursday through Sunday.

The track will host three points races on the road to Kentucky Derby 2025. The Grade 3 Southwest on Jan. 25 offers 20-10-6-4-2 qualifying points to the top five finishers. The Rebel (G2) on Feb. 22 offers 50-25-15-10-5 points, and the Arkansas Derby (G1) on March 29 offers 100-50-25-15-10 points.

On those same dates, Oaklawn will host stakes on the Kentucky Oaks (G1) trail. The Martha Washington on Jan. 25 offers 20-10-6-4-2 points, the Honeybee (G3) on Feb. 22 offers 50-25-15-10-5 points, and the Fantasy (G2) on March 29 offers 100-50-25-10 points.
