Seven-time Grand Slam champion Mats Wilander has proclaimed that Novak Djokovic “will win another Grand Slam” ahead of the 2025 season. 

After winning three Grand Slam titles in an incredible 2023 season, Djokovic did not secure a major this year — making it his first ‘Slamless’ campaign since 2017.

The 37-year-old’s most recent major triumph, which came at the 2023 US Open, extended his record Grand Slam tally to 24.

This year, Djokovic was a semi-finalist at the Australian Open, a quarter-finalist at Roland Garros (where he withdrew through injury), and a runner-up at Wimbledon, while he lost in the third round at the US Open.

The Serbian won his only title of 2024 at the Paris Olympics, where he delivered a stunning display to overcame Carlos Alcaraz in a pulsating final.

By winning a maiden gold medal, Djokovic claimed the only significant prize previously missing from his unrivalled trophy collection.

Wilander, a former world No 1 and tennis analyst, has backed Djokovic to add to his Grand Slam tally.

“Novak Djokovic will win another Grand Slam is my prediction,” the Swede told Eurosport.

Alex Corretja, a two-time French Open runner-up and former world No 2, gave his verdict on Djokovic’s major prospects.

“He can win any of them,” the Spaniard said.

Former British No 1 Laura Robson believes Djokovic hiring Andy Murray will prove fruitful.

“Yeah. He’s got Andy Murray as his coach, he’s got to win a Slam,” the former world No 27 declared.

Djokovic and Murray created one of the biggest tennis stories of 2024 when they announced their shock collaboration last month.

The former rivals faced off 36 times between 2006 and 2017, with Djokovic holding a 25-11 advantage.

Murray, who called time on his illustrious playing career after the Paris Olympics in August, will be in the Serbian’s coaching box for the first time at the 2025 Australian Open.

Djokovic will begin his 2025 season at the Brisbane International, an ATP 250 tournament which will run from December 30 to January 6.

The 37-year-old, who sits seventh in the ATP Rankings, will be the top seed in Brisbane — where he will be seeking a 100th ATP singles title.

His only previous appearance at the tournament came in 2009, when he suffered a surprise first round exit at the hands of Ernests Gulbis.
