Former world No 9 Andrea Petkovic has claimed Novak Djokovic will not care about winning any tournaments other than the Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2025.
The retired WTA star, who is now a tennis analyst, thinks Djokovic will retire if he wins one of those two Grand Slam events.
Djokovic won his 24th and most recent major title at the 2023 US Open — his third Grand Slam triumph of a staggering season.
The legendary Serb holds the all-time record for men’s Grand Slam crowns, with his great former rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer second and third on the list with 22 and 20 respectively.
The 37-year-old’s most successful major is the Australian Open, where he has won a record 10 men’s titles.
He holds an astonishing 94-9 (91.3%) record from his 19 appearances at the Melbourne Grand Slam, which was the site of his maiden major victory in 2008.
Wimbledon is Djokovic’s second best Grand Slam tournament for titles won (seven) and win percentage (89%). He last triumphed at the All England Club in 2022 and was a runner-up in both 2023 and 2024.

Speaking on the Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast, Petkovic predicted that Djokovic will be entirely focused on adding to his major tally at his two favourite tournaments in the upcoming season.
“So, my prediction for Novak is that he will not give a flying F about any of the tournaments except for the Australian Open and Wimbledon,” Petkovic proclaimed.
“And he will make a huge push with everything he has still got left in that cute 40-year-old body of his. Will put everything into winning one of these, try and get to 25, and then get the f*** out.”
Rennae Stubbs, Petkovic’s co-host, marvelled at Djokovic’s remarkable record at the Australian Open.
“Obviously we know that’s the tournament he plays his best tennis at,” the former doubles world No 1 said.
“He’s won that 10 times, which is outrageous! The fact that he’s won 10 Australian Open’s is just mind boggling. The only person you can talk about in the same category is Rafa [Nadal] winning 14 French Opens.
“I’m not kidding you, if he (Djokovic) wins the Australian Open, I would like him to drop the mic (by retiring).”
Djokovic won his most recent Australian Open crown in 2023, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final. He was beaten by eventual champion Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals at the 2024 edition.
