Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, the top two seeds at the Paris 2024 Olympics men’s singles tennis tournament, will compete for the gold medal at the Roland Garros Stadium on Sunday.

The 21-year-old Carlos Alcaraz, a three-time Grand Slam champion, is in terrific form in France, having beaten all his opponents in straight sets en route to the men’s singles final.

In the semi-finals, the third-ranked Alcaraz beat Canada’s Felix Auger Aliassime 6-1, 6-1 to reach the gold medal match on his Olympic debut.

World No. 2 Novak Djokovic, 37, too has had a flawless run until the final. He faced arch-rival and two-time Olympic gold medallist Rafael Nadal of Spain in the second round and came out on top in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.

The Serbian defeated 11th seed Lorenzo Musetti of Italy in the semi-finals 6-4, 6-2 to reach the men’s singles final for the first time in five attempts. He previously won bronze at Beijing 2008.
