SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – After holding its first official practice of the season last week, the Notre Dame men’s basketball team was back in action on Tuesday for media day.
The Fighting Irish won’t start their regular season until November, but they’ve already built strong team chemistry during their offseason, highlighted by an undefeated 3-0 record on their foreign tour of Spain.
With practice now underway, the team took their official picture today, and we spoke with some of the players about the excitement building for the upcoming season and how the practices have been so far.
“I think the team is just ready for the season to start,” said sophomore guard Logan Imes. “Playing against each other all summer and then getting to go to Spain and then just being back here in the fall and just going at it every day. So far, so good.”
“It’s been long, but it’s been really fun,” said sophomore guard Markus Burton. “Just getting after it with the guys, picking everybody’s brains listening to coaches, seeing what they have to say. It’s been really fun.”
“Really competitive, high pace, high tempo, but also really energetic,” said graduate guard Matt Allocco. “We have been playing against each other since June, so I am looking forward to hopefully playing against some other competition, too.”
