The Notre Dame men’s basketball team is going through a bit of a struggle right now. The last thing it needs is to develop health issues, but that’s exactly what’s happened.
Before the Irish’s contest against Pittsburgh, it was announced that Braeden Shrewsberry, who had started every game this season, would be out after suffering an abdomen strain in their last game against SMU. Closer to game time, Matt Allocco, who had missed the Irish’s previous four games before returning against the Mustangs, also was ruled out.
So with two starters out, the Irish turned to Sir Mohammed and J.R. Konieczny, the latter of whom made his first start this season. Mohammed has been starting in place of Allocco, who came off the bench against the Mustangs.
This obviously is a tough blow for the Irish, who are trying to stay out of the bottom three of the ACC and be able to go to the conference tournament:
Hopefully, both players are back soon.
