SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – One of the crown jewels of Notre Dame’s 2025 football recruiting class has decommitted from the Irish and committed to play for Auburn.
Quarterback Deuce Knight is one of the highest ranked quarterbacks in the 2025 class and he gave his verbal commitment to Notre Dame more than a year ago.
In recent months however Knight began visiting other schools and his commitment to Notre Dame seemed shaky.
Now, according to multiple reports, Knight has made it official, announcing his plan to play for Auburn and decommit from Notre Dame.
Knight is from Mississippi and was recruited by schools all over the country.
He stands six foot four, has a rocket arm, and runs like the wind.
It’s a tough loss for Notre Dame, but they do still have CJ Carr, who was one of the top high school quarterbacks in the 2024 class.
They also have Kenny Minchey, one of the top quarterbacks in the 2023 class, and highly rated 2026 quarterback Noah Grubbs.
