Rishabh Pant’s remarkable impact on Test cricket, despite his relatively short career, has led to comparisons with the legendary Adam Gilchrist. Pant’s aggressive batting style has captivated fans and reminded them of Gilchrist’s similar approach to the game.
The three-time World Cup winner Gilchrist has expressed immense admiration for Pant, stating that the Indian star is a player he would willingly pay to watch bat. This praise highlights Pant’s exceptional talent and the excitement he brings to the game.
“He is, what you say, bums on seats and people pay money well and truly. I would happily pay money to watch him play cricket. So that’s a great quality to have, I think, if people are acknowledging in that manner because he gets the results, he’s a winner and a survivor, as we know. He’s all class in everything he does. He’s good fun, he’s got the humour. He knows how to go about a very serious business in a fun way,” Gilchrist told Cricket.com.
Notably, Pant’s magnificent century was his sixth in Test cricket, equalling Dhoni’s record for the most centuries scored by an Indian wicketkeeper-batter in the longest format.
