PIAA District One Football: North Penn, Downingtown West championship
North Penn visited Downingtown West to play in the District One Class 6A championship game.
DOWNINGTOWN — Downingtown West scored on its final possession of the first half and first possession of the third quarter to help pull away from visiting North Penn for a 35-16 win in the PIAA District One Class 6A football final Friday night.
The loss ended the season for the Knights while the Whippets advanced to next week’s PIAA semifinals against District 12 champion Saint Joe’s Prep, a 46-7 winner over District 11 champ Parkland at Pennridge.

North Penn ended its season with an 11-3 record after winning its first three district playoff games.
