There will be no spring football game in 2025 or 2026, Mizzou head football coach Eli Drinkwitz said on Monday.
The annual tradition will not happen for the next two years because of the construction on the north side of Memorial Stadium, which is scheduled to be completed by the 2026 season.
Missouri is not the only program in the country to cancel its spring game. Programs such as Texas, Southern California and Nebraska will also not have a spring game for varying reasons.
The Tigers will still have their spring practices starting Friday, Feb. 28. They will have 13 practices in 21 days, all of which will be closed to the public.
Missouri finished this season 10-3, punctuated by a 27-24 victory in the 2024 Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee. Drinkwitz became the second coach in Missouri football history to have multiple 10-win seasons. The first was Gary Pinkel, who coached the team from 2001 to 2015.
Drinkwitz is 21-5 overall in the last two seasons, with an 11-5 Southeastern Conference record during that span.
The 2025 season kicks off Aug. 30, when the Tigers welcome Central Arkansas to town.
