MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. – Hamilton College’s Serena Bagga ’27 fired a 1-under par 71 in the final round and the Continentals tied for eighth place out of 24 teams in the 2024 Golfweek Division III October Classic at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort’s The Links Golf Club on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Hamilton’s four-person team score of 296 in the third round was one shot off the team record of 295 set in the NESCAC Championship Qualifier on Oct. 9, 2021. The Continentals finished with a 54-hole tournament total of 911.
The event featured 15 teams that were ranked in the Oct. 4 Mizuno Women’s Golf Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll, including No. 23 Hamilton. No. 7 Washington University (Mo.) captured the team title with a team score of 868, top-ranked Carnegie Mellon University was runner-up at 870 and No. 2 Emory University ended up in third place at 877.
Bagga’s 71 is the best round by any Continental since Emily Moy ’22 posted the same score at that NESCAC qualifier in October 2021. Bagga was 3-under on the par threes and recorded four birdies overall on Tuesday. She tied for 18th place out of 124 golfers at 223.
Aubrey Lee ’28 birdied three holes, including the 18th, and carded an even-par 72. Lee also tied for 18th place at 223 for the tournament.
Peyton Sichol ’26 made birdie on the first hole and recorded a 1-over par 73 for the second time during the tournament. Sichol tied for 26th place with a 54-hole score of 224.
Olivia Strigh ’25 was 2-over on the front nine and registered an 80. Strigh landed at 241 for the tournament.
The Hamilton women return to the links in the spring of 2025.
