COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) – Residents of Northern Kentucky and the surrounding area were invited to a Christkindlmarkt on Sunday morning.
The event is based on traditional Christmas markets that are popular throughout Germany. The Christkindl tradition dates back to the late middle ages, specifically in the German-speaking parts of Europe. The first documented Christkindlmarkt was in 1628.
Customers could shop for unique gifts from vendors all over the Tri-State, grab something to eat at the event or have a drink at one of the local establishments. The event also had music and fun activities for the children.
The market ran from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
